Keepin Up With... Dilk

Dilk's Preview Show

On Friday, 7th October 2011 The Collective headed over to Repton to catch up with our close friend and spray master, Dilk.

The New Court Gallery, part of Repton School was the venue and it turned out to be a great gallery for an ace artist. Dilk showed off a slightly different style tonight, he wanted to be experimental and put a fresh slant on things; concentrating on getting his work a lot more precise, with skilled manipulation of lines from his beloved and long time partners, Montana Colours.

On display was the effortless flow of Dilk's work, laying spray down on white walls and with very few canvases in sight meant that he had to make the first spray count or that would ruin the outcome of the rest of the mural, it showed a true maestro at work.

Every line, shape, swirl and gesture which was evident on the walls had it's own meaning, a truly gratifying experience for those who are fans of Dilk's work.

So with that in mind, it was true to say the evening was a great success with DJ Kid Colours on the decks, Invasian - Asia's leading graff mag in attendance, artists, students and locals, it's fitting to say a big thanks to Dilk and Silvia for a grand occasion and one that will stay with us for a long time...

Dilk's Exhibition is on till the 17th of November 2011.
Gallery Opening Times: Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturdays 2-6pm.
